Mark,

Are you doing self-study? What is your prior language study background? How
far do you intend to go in your study? These things might be useful to
know...

You will find that there are numerous good resources available; and people
who intend to become serious scholars will spend quite a lot of money to do
so. (Logos can save you a bundle if you can deal with the computer
interface--some people like it a lot, and some people truly don't.)

There are some differences between Summers and other grammars that might
matter to you depending on how you learn. Having gone on to deeper study, I
tend to prefer Summers; but I also understand why some people find it
confusing as an introductory presentation. (I tutor Greek and often work
with students who have learning difficulties; and I have spent much time
thinking about this.) If your English grammar is weak or you have no clue
what "case" is, this may not be the best resource for you to try using (just
my opinion). For people with challenges in English grammar, Mounce or Croy
might be better choices. There are a lot of helps for Mounce's stuff
available through Zondervan and online; and I seem to remember that there
are also some sites with helps for Croy.

On a personal note, the resources that George recommends have been
invaluable to me as I have moved into advanced grammar study, exegesis,
reading various Greek texts, etc. I used some of them toward the end of my
first year of study and have continued using them over the years since then.
They do not lose their usefulness over time.

Hope this helps.
