<The original article referenced has been lost sight of in the discussion.
That's ok, but I asked some questions of Randall somewhat early on, and I am
still wondering about his opinion as well as that of others about the value
of the article for introducing the basic "aspect only" perspective (for lack
of a better summary term) of verbal aspect. More specifically, is it not a
good recommendation for an accessible introduction to the aspect
only/Porterite view of the issues (to which, again, I do no ascribe),
including its view of the debate itself and how it is to be framed?<
Brian, you can recommend whatever you like.
I cannot in good conscience recommend that paper because it is bad
linguistics and bad Greek, and it does not introduce itself to the student
as either.
It does not point out what is weak or misleading, but implies that
its descriptions are good that the general approach is an improvement.
οὕτως οἴομαι Your mileage may differ.
