Thanks, Chris, for pointing me to the crux of the matter. Moule says
"there are certain words which seldom or never begin a sentence..." and
he mentions DE, GAR, etc, without saying which of these words would
*seldomly* be so used, and which *never*. My search of the NT revealed
no sentence beginning with DE. My LXX text not being punctuated, I have
only searched the LXX for a "KAI DE" construction, finding none.
Apologies also if this was redundant... Having not yet learned to search
the archives, I keep many B-Greek posts on the hard-drive for future
reference. But I notice only *now* that last October I saved en masse
about 20 posts on the passage then, which I had missed reading, having
been on vacation...
