Dear Francisco,
Far be it from me that I should add anything to Carl's definitive answer;
but....
If you have a Jewish Haggadah (for the Seder of the Passover) you will find it
very interesting to compare the Last Supper with the Passover. Especially
compare the giving of the Afikomen with the Breaking if the Bread at the
Eucharist, and the 3rd Cup of Blessing with the Cup of the Eucharist (the
Cup *after supper*, Luke 22:20).
Even if the Last Supper was not an actual Passover, but a Qiddush in
anticipation of the Passover (but Luke says it was a Passover), it is
instructive to see what Jesus was actually doing at the meal, and how he
changed the significance of those two features of the Passover rite.
ERRWSQE,
Ben
