Please accept my apologies for implying that I was
addressing YOU when I commented on the punctiliar and
telic aspects. I was simply involving myself in this
discussion and was attempting to make open comments
that I felt were apropos.
A comment Kimmo made led me to make the comment on
punctiliarity, and a comment Mark made led me to
address the telicity comment.
I will make every effort to avoid such a
misunderstanding in the future. I am embarrassed to
say that I simply used the "reigning" example to
address an aspectual issue related to the Imperfect
and Aorist.
Oddly though, the only comment I addressed to you was
my opening comment about your statement on the Aorist,
which I was in agreement with.
My apologies for my miscommunication.
=====
Sincerely,
Alan B. Thomas
