I notice that some posters specify a particular font in their messages. I
wonder if this has any relation to your problem, Jonathan?
I know that I generally prefer to control the appearance of text in my mail
locally; each system displays fonts somewhat differently, depending upon
display hardware and video implementations. What works well and legibly on
my system may not be as good on another, so I don't specify particular fonts
in my mail and prefer that my correspondents also refrain from this.
