Re: Beck's Translation

At 19:59 99/12/23 EST, Lowry Hershey (H2pariter@aol.com) wrote about Beck's
translation, and returned the discussion to the translation itself.
(Numerous other contributions lately under the heading of "Beck's
translation" have actually taken the discussion rather far afield, I fear.)

It is in fact a good translation, refreshingly different in some places
from the majority trend, and thus encouraging us to think more deeply about
a passage.

I think perhaps my favourite rendering is Beck's 1 Corinthians 11:11, which
(from memory) goes like this: "The fact is, in the Lord a woman needs a
man, and a man needs a woman."

Yep.
