To: Jeffrey R Fisher,

<< Psalms 110:1 seems to be the most quoted verse from the OT in the NT. Is
it more often quoted from the LXX or the MT? >>

Albright & Mann [1971] claim that Matthew's text (Mt 22:44) was not from
the LXX, on the other hand, David S. New [1993] claims that the LXX was
"undoubtedly" the text used by the evangelists. And (according to Taylor
[1952]) Swete has suggested that the quotation might derive from a
collection of testimonia. Looking at the various texts side by side, the
differences are so slight that it seems to me that it is almost impossible
to determine whether the evangelists (Mt 22:44; Mk 12:36; Lk 20:42-43; &
Acts 2:34-35) and/or the author of Hebrews (Hb 1:13) was using the MT, the
LXX, or some other text.
