If you go to the following webpage

(that's all one single line for your Internet browser)

the process there should allow you to determine if your computer is infected
with a virus.

If you have a computer running Windows (earlier than Windows XP) click on
Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/ScanDisk and that should help you
find out if there is a problem with your hard drive.
