The best way to provide such a record would, of course, be through the establishment of the publicly readable (but not publicly writable) archived mail list that has been suggested several times over the last couple of months. Since that appears not to be forthcoming, however, I've begun a simple archive on my personal web site. You can find all the messages sent to this group, beginning with our discussion of DIS 29500 in April, at http://www.ibiblio.org/bosak/v1mail/200704/ http://www.ibiblio.org/bosak/v1mail/200705/ As you can see, I've simply saved each message in its own file and named each file to indicate the order in which I received it. The text should be easily visible in any common web browser; attachments are trickier, but in the worst case, files can be downloaded to a local machine and then viewed with Thunderbird, which shows the attachments. (I haven't tried this with other software, but Thunderbird is freely available for all common current platforms, so access should not be a problem.) Since I am juggling V1 participation with other commitments -- in particular, chairing a fairly sizable OASIS technical committee -- I can't promise to update the archive more often than every couple of days, not counting weekends. But I will do my best to provide the public with a complete record of our discussions. If anyone notices that I've missed anything, please notify me and I will correct the omission as soon as possible. Obviously a real mail archive with threading and search capabilities would be much preferred to this simple collection of files, which attempts merely to provide the minimum required to discharge our obligations to the public. I hope that we can soon start working with a real mail list, but for the moment, this will have to do. Jon
