I am trying to put together the ad hoc meetings on the US comments, which will be reporting back to the full committee. The most likely dates (I am awaiting further replies) look like 26th and 29th of October, probably for 3-4 hours each. Biggest requirement, besides the time to attend, is the time to review the US comments (I have them in Excel format) ahead of the meeting so we can go fairly quickly to determine which ones are "essential" and which ones are not. Recall that our brief is to divide the comments into essential/non-essential and that V1 has fashioned the following definition for essential: "Essential means something that significantly impairs the ability of an implementer to implement the standard or significantly impairs the ability of a user to rely upon the standard." Some of them are easy under that definition, such as failing to obey ISO rules on annexes. Should be fixed but certainly not essential under our definition. What I need is one developer to step up to make up the ad hoc so that all view points are represented. Please contact me off list if you have time to help with the ad hoc. Note that I will be on the road from the 20th to the 25th of October so my email access may be sporadic during that time. Hope everyone is having a great day! Patrick PS: I finally have all the V1 documents from this year in a uniform naming format (including the short naming that Rex started) so I hope by the next V1 meeting that we will have an online archive of our documents. PPS: Just a reminder, INCITS will be sending out bills later this year for 2008. Remember that the dues are increasing from $800 to $1,200. However, there is no additional fee for alternates. Just something to keep in mind while planning for the end of the year. -- Patrick Durusau patrick@durusau.net Chair, V1 - US TAG to JTC 1/SC 34 Acting Convener, JTC 1/SC 34/WG 3 (Topic Maps) Co-Editor, ISO/IEC 13250-1, 13250-5 (Topic Maps) Co-Editor, OpenDocument Format (OASIS, ISO/IEC 26300)
