
Evergreen, aromatic trees to 21 m tall, excurrent and more or less symmetrical, with flexible horizontal to pendulous branches; bark gray or brown, deeply furrowed between scaly, flat ridges; twigs pubescent and slightly roughened by persistent pegs (sterigmata). Leaves narrowly linear, flat in cross-section, with 2 glaucous bands below, petiolate on a short persistent peg. Pollen cones subglobose, 3 mm long. Seed cones brown, ovoid, pendulous, stalked; scales becoming gray, longer than bract s, thin, smooth, persisting on the cone axis.
