2004 Cabinet
Highlights of the 2004 season included performances by pianist Emanuel Ax, tenor Ben Heppner, and hornist Michael Thompson. The season finale concert, conducted by Artistic Director David Effron, included the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto and Mahler's Symphony No. 5. Soloist in the Mendelssohn was to have been BMC alumnus Robert McDuffie, but an injury forced him to withdraw, and Arturo Delmoni performed the concerto instead.Operas and musicals were

The chamber music series at the Brevard College's Porter Center included concerts by The Miami String Quartet, the Diaz Trio, and I Solisti di Brevard, a new string chamber orchestra comprised of BMC's outstanding Young Artist students.
Don Freund and Maria Newman were BMC's composers-in-residence. Guest artist for the annual NFMC Concert was pianist Marina Lomazov, 1997 NFMC Young Artist winner.
