Charles Houston Teague, 77, passed away at 3:20 pm on Friday, June 15, 2007 at the Heritage Villa Nursing Center in Bartlesville, OK.
Graveside funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in the Old Chapel Hill Cemetery in Chapel Hill NC with the Rev. Martha Hubbard Forrest officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were directed by the Walker’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, NC. Local arrangements were entrusted to the Arnold Moore Funeral Service.
A native of North Carolina, Charles Houston Teague was born July 13, 1929 in Sanford. He was the son of the late Claude Edward Teague, Sr. and Mary Spaugh Teague. He was reared and received his education in North Carolina, attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received his graduate and post-graduate degrees. He served in the military as a lieutenant in the United States Air Force. On May 28, 1977, he and the former Beverly Rogers Foster were married in Greenville, SC, where he worked with Fibers. That same year they moved to Bartlesville, OK where he worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. in Research and Development until his retirement in 1994, at which time he was Licensing Director for Energy and Refining Technology.
Survivors are his wife, Beverly Foster Teague of the home; daughters Mary Teague Hatcliff and husband Patrick of Murfreesboro, TN, Stacy Teague Boyle and husband Patrick of Stratham, NH and Kelly Long Teague of Boston, MA; four grandchildren, Caitlin Miller Davis, Carly Elizabeth Hatcliff, Kevin Reeves Boyle and Brendan Teague Boyle; a brother, Claude Edward Teague, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC and a sister, Elizabeth Teague McNeill and husband Robert of Raeford, NC. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Hampton Long Teague.
