On July 28, the Haw River Watch Project will hold a water-quality testing event at the Haw River in Saxapahaw.
Haw River Watch Project coordinator Cynthia Crossen will instruct attendees about measuring water quality by conducting chemical tests and identifying the number and type of water bugs. The event will take place on the island in the middle of the Haw River from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free and open to all ages. Attendees are advised to bring waterproof shoes and bug spray.
The event is subject to cancellation in the case of heavy rain. For more information, call (919) 542-3827 or email riverwatch@hawriver.org
