[G-IV-4]
[Deemer]
(Medvedenko comes from the study into the garden. He stops and speaks to the audience.)
MED.: Well, at least the weather has improved. It would be nice to stay dry. Don't think too harshly of Masha. She's not herself. Some women take naturally to motherhood but it's been a real struggle for her. I keep thinking she'll get better at it but not so far. Maybe when we move. She wants to move more than I do. I expect to get an offer to transfer. We shall see. Well, I'd like to stay but I'm worried about the baby. Maybe I'll stay dry. Wish be luck.
(He leaves. Medvedenko is done, for him the play is over.)
