There also appear to be decent clothes, and much more
furniture than at most thrifts (though there also seems to be
a higher ratio of crap to good stuff). This store is run by the
Raleigh Rescue Mission, and they have happy videotapes
with inspirational stories about helping the poor, which run
constantly. Definitely a feel-good thrift shopping experience.
Next to New is on the left-hand side of Poole Road, about
a mile and a half south of the place where it splits off from
New Bern Avenue. It's in a stripmall, and the first thing you
see is a Goodyear Tire sign coming up on the left.
I have seen more plates and saucers stacked up at Next to
New than at any other thrift store I've ever been to.
