Section 1.2
The Forbidden City

The Mongol dynasty of the 13th century began construction on the magnificent Purple Forbidden City.  It was completed by the Ming Dynasty and has been the residence for emperors until the end of dynastic rule.  It is now called the Palace Museum, and is open for all to see.
