About CHPAC
|
OVERVIEWThe Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission (CHPAC) is an advisory board of the Town of Chapel Hill. Established in 1992 by a resolution of the Town Council, the CHPAC continues to serve as the only public arts organization of the Town. The CHPAC is responsible for advising the Council on art-related matters, working with Town staff to administer the Percent for Art program, increasing public access to the arts through programming initiatives, and promoting public understanding and awareness of the arts. Sixteen volunteer board members are appointed by the Town Council to serve as advisors and supporters of public art. Commission members are appointed by the Town Council for three-year terms and may serve no more than two consecutive terms. Meetings are open to the public and are held the second Wednesday of the month at Chapel Hill Town Hall. |
