Schools
Auburn School District Auburn
Maine -- Contains information on the district administration as well as
on individual schools within the district.
- Secondary
- Beardsley Junior High
School computer lab Bakersfield California -- "This index links to
many pages of useful information for Beardsley Junior High School
computer students. Vocabulary, weekly assignments, and general technology
data are available at the click of a mouse button."
- Mr. Richard Geib's class
at Berendo Middle School Los Angeles California -- "I am an
English and English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher at Berendo

school is located in the Pico-Union area, just a little southwest of
downtown Los Angeles. This page is dedicated to my students."
- Biddeford High School
Biddeford Maine
- Eastern High School
Voorhees New Jersey -- Maintained by the computer club at Eastern, these
pages have been created mostly by students.
- Lewis County High School
Weston West Virginia -- Wow. One could spend a whole day going through
*student* homepages, no less faculty and staff homepages. This school is
making a serious effort to include students in their pursuit of the
"Information Superhighway". Great site!
- Noble High
School Berwick Maine -- Information for students, teachers and
parents including among other things the school newspaper, alumni contact
information, and club information.
- Orono
Middle School Orono Maine -- "We are committed to our students'
intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth, and we will provide
a safe, supportive and stimulating environment in which growth will be
encouraged." -- from the Statement of Purpose
- Orono High
School Orono Maine -- One of the best high school sites we've come
across in a while; not necessarily in terms of the amount of content, but
in the style of content - humourous and engaging; something that most
school sites lack. Put together by students, as well.
- Alan C. Pope High
School
Marietta Georgia -- Another site which has been, for the most part,
created by students, the Pope High School website relays the general feel
of the school as perceived by students.
- Rock Falls Middle
School Rock Falls Illinois -- "Become the one you dream you can be";
excellent examples of student artwork and pointers for parents, teachers,
and students to other places of interest on the Web.
-
International
Australia
- Sydney Girls High
School Sydney New South Wales -- This unofficial school homepage,
written by students themselves, provides more information than a lot of
"official" homepages put out by other schools. Here, find out anything
from the school song to a Sister School project to staff and students and
more.
- Macquarie Boys Technology
High School Parramatta New South Wales -- " Macquarie Boys'
Technology High School is a comprehensive boys' secondary school seeking
to provide excelence in learning through discipline and care."
- Trinity Lutheran College Gold
Coast Queensland -- "Trinity Lutheran College is a Christian Co-Educational
Secondary School administered by a College Council,
elected by the Lutheran Church of Australia (Queensland District).
Admission is open to all who accept the principles and
policies on which it operates and all the major Christian
Churches are represented among its students. "
New
Zealand
- St Albans
School Christchurch -- "St Albans School serves a diverse community
which includes children from a wide range of
socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, including a strong Maori
representation due to the school's bi-lingual classes (Tikanga Rua Reo);
children from Asia and the Pacific; and various European
regions.

Professional Development
The Education Network of Maine
provides teachers and other educators with the opportunity to take
courses, enroll in degree programs, and further advance their knowledge
via a comprehensive voice, video and data system (supplemented by real
live humans) statewide. The ENM is its own entity within the University of
Maine system and currently offers seven full associate degrees, five
bachelor's degrees, and three masters degrees in Education, Industrial
Technology and Library & Information Science.
GradeKeeper,
written by Daniel Ethier, is a program for the Macintosh which allows
greater flexibility in tracking, reporting, and maintaining student
gradesheets throughout the school year. GradeKeeper is shareware, but you
can download a copy of it from the above website. All in all, it looks to
be very handy and useful.
Subjects -- Sciences
NASA produces and disseminates a lot of information via the World Wide
Web; it was with great pleasure that we found the Total Solar
Eclipse of 26 February 1998 pages, keeping us informed of eclipse
paths and appearance dates and such. In addition to this page (first of
many we found fascinating on this site), there are the Five Year Canon of
Solar Eclipse pages, maintained by Frank Roussel in Rennes, France.
All in all, a lot of information to use either in the classroom or to
which one can point interested students.
