LOWER RIGHT: McDuff Park in Falmouth, Virginia
where the photos were taken. McDuff Park is slightly
south of the 20th's positions in the above map. McDuff
Park is the closest public land from which the 20th
positions.can be safely viewed. McDuff Park is almost straight east of the site identified by park rangers of a site in the National Military Park from which the 20th's positions could be viewed. In May when we visited, that line of sight was blocked by the leaves of the trees. Viewing from with the National Military Park may only be possible in late fall, winter, or early spring when the trees have no leaves. UPPER LEFT: Lee's Hill and the Fredericksburg National Military Park Visitors Center National Park Rangers at the Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park Visitors Center directed us to 20th Michigan positions outside of the National Military Park. |
