Opponents to health care reform are displaying images of Dachau to make a bizarre connection to Nazi death camps. Legitimate differences of opinion can be civilly expressed and debated rationally. Making references to the Holocaust insults not only men like my late father who is a Dachau liberator but also all the victims of the Holocaust.

Dachau and health care reform
Monday, November 9th, 2009President Obama’s remarks at Buchenwald Added to Felix & WW2
Saturday, July 18th, 2009To An Unrecognized and Uncompensated Disabled Veteran? I’ve added President Obama’s remarks about how his great-uncle was effected by his participation in the liberation of the Ohrdruf sub-camp of Buchenwald. President Obama’s words also describe how Dad’s participation in the liberation of Dachau may have effected him.
I added a citation to a veteran’s report of cold injuries he suffered in Belgium to his legs and feet about the same time as Felix suffered similar injuries in France. Both had permanently disabling effects. The other veterans was given two 10% disability payments. That confirms my belief that with support and encouragement Felix would also have received some VA disability compensation.
