Welcome to the first issue of Computer-Mediated Communication Magazine In my welcome editorial, I describe my vision for this magazine. This editor's page will be a weekly column in which I'll comment on the current issue and call for other participation.
In this issue, I've started with stories I know. I report some on some news from the National Net '94 conference held recently in Washington, DC and at the Conference on College Composition and Communication held recently in Nashville, TN. I describe US Deputy Secretary of Commerce David Barram's remarks before the National Net '94 conference in which he emphasized the Clinton administration's focus on real results from a US national information infrastructure. I report on the theme of working together at National Net '94 as well as Ray Smith's comments about Bell Atlantic.
For the next issue, I seek your participation. Consider submitting or joining the staff.
