Seeking Volunteer Coordinators!
As the movement for commercial-free public schools continues to grow, so too does the need for local leadership. We need dedicated volun-teers to help the Center’s staff spread the word about classroom commercialism and build a national network.

Specifically, we are looking for Regional Volunteer Coordi-nators. Coordinators will receive training from the Center and then be asked to complete a number of out-reach efforts. Over the course of a year, a coordinator might speak at a local PTA or school board meeting about in-school commercialism. He/she may also recruit other activists to build a local network, speak to local newspaper reporters, and promote national campaigns such as the Commercialism Walk-Through and upcoming Classroom Integrity Pledge.

All coordinators will be in regular contact with Center staff and receive outreach materials as well as regular coordinator updates. Coordinators will also stay in touch with each other to share ideas and resources. Previous experience working on the issue of commercialism in schools is helpful, but not necessary. The most important qualifications sought are the ability to work well with others and the desire to make a difference! Please call us at 1-800-UNPLUG-1 if you’d like an application or more information.
