We've recruited at Carrboro's Really, Really Free Market in July and August and plan to do it again in September. Join us from 2:30 to 4:30 at the Carrboro Town Commons on Saturday, September 1st, to talk about Open Source software and meet new people!
What is the Really, Really Free Market?
A Really, Really Free Market is a temporary market based on an alternate gift economy. Participants bring resources to share and give away, and are given resources without expectation of reciprocation. The event is a community gathering where food and music are often shared along with gifts.
Why is COSI involved?
Community outreach is a big part of COSI. A group of students will not change the world by themselves, and cannot change the community without the participation and interest of the community. If Open Source software is going to hit the mainstream, we need to meet people where they are. The Really, Really Free Market is a great way to meet members of our community, share our knowledge about the Open Source movement, and learn about the needs and interests of potential FOSS users.
