Scouting reports

Scout: JazzyJ

Obviously, the big question here is his size. But heart is certainly not a question because he has plenty of it. The reigning player of the year in the talent-rich Atlantic-10; if you think about it, he won the award over the likes of James Posey and Lamar Odom, so he really was something special this past year. Very quick, can get to the basket anytime he wants, and is an outstanding free throw shooter. A real pest defensively, he led the nation in steals. Has improved on his outside shot over his career, but could still use a little work. One thing that really stands out is how well Rogers rebounds the ball. He really has good strength to go along with his quickness.

Can all the positives surrounding Rogers overcome the height disadvantage he is going to have night after night in the NBA? The success of Spud Webb and Muggsy Bogues would seem to indicate that he can. However, to make the NBA, he may have to go the undrafted route. The last great "mites" to make the NBA, Keith "Mister" Jennings and Earl Boykins, both made the pros, but went undrafted -- and those guys didn't have any questions regarding their outside shooting ability, something surrounding Rogers. The thought here is that someone might take a flyer on Rogers though, perhaps late in the 2nd round.
