Richard
H. Simpson, Professor in The School of Journalism and Mass Communication,
has degrees from SMU, Univ. of Wisconsin, and The London International Film
School. He has taught at SMU and Trinity University in Texas. He was also an independent television/film producer/director in Atlanta, Ga. for five years. He now combines teaching media production classes during the fall and spring semesters with various independent production assignments during the summer.He has produced, directed and edited corporate, public relations, entertainment, educational and informational films and videos for regional, national and international distribution. He has received awards from the International Television Association and the Annual Telly Awards. He has been a broadcast media festival judge for The National Headliner Awards for three years running (the oldest media awards competition in the country), the Texas Film Commission, the NC Association of Broadcasters, the International Television Association and the Raleigh Arts Council. Simpson is also a media consultant and advisor for many non-profit organizations and has produced and edited over thirty-five video PSA's for varied clients. His interests are in corporate communication and video production. |
