Curry's
Last Game
by Ben Hayes
For the 18 Tar Heel football seniors, the Peach Bowl win was
a memorable way to end their Carolina careers.
And the game gave one senior a final chance to live up to his
expectations.
When people look into the eyes of Ronald Curry, many see a disappointment,
a letdown, when it comes to Carolina football.
And throughout his career he has taken his fair share of hits
on and off the field.
But his coach knows just what Curry has given to this program
and what type of player he is losing.
Bunting said, "He is more than a good kid, he is a man, he is
a man's, man. I couldn't be prouder of anyone on our football
team then what Ronald Curry stands for."
But as Curry headed into his final game, last month's Peach
Bowl, he knew it wasn't for his accomplishments on the field
that he wants to be remembered.
"I feel like I'm a good kid, great kid. I feel like I'm a great
role model, cause regardless of what happens I'm a good person."
"I'm going to treat people the same way no matter what
happens," said Curry.
As great a person as Curry is off the field, in his final game
on the field for Carolina, he was just as spectacular.
And when you looked into the eyes of Ronald Curry on that night,
all you saw were the eyes of a champion.
