September 11th Effects
Spring Break Travel

Bahamas, San Francisco, Spain, Maine, and Winston-Salem, North
Carolina are just some of the hot travel destinations.
With Spring Break only a month and a half away, students are getting
excited about their travel destinations.
"I am so excited about going to Jamaica with three of my friends.
We're going to have a blast," said UNC-Chapel Hill senior Mary Allison
Haywood.
But some students are waiting until the last minute to make their
plans. According to Tiffany Felde, manager of STA Travel on Franklin
Street, there have been a lot of last-minute planners. "We have
been so busy. I think a lot of students were waiting until after
the holidays to see what was going to happen next," Felde stated.
This year students aren't just dreaming about sunny beaches and
exotic places. They're concerned about their safety in the skies.
But September 11th hasn't changed where students are going for Spring
Break, just how they're getting there.
Travel agents say that cruises are very popular this year.
Some students are going the distance by driving to their destinations
to avoid air travel.
While safety is important to travelers after the terrorist attack,
most students are excited about relaxing and taking a break from
classes.
