Basketball Museum
by Caitlin Williams

Soon Heaven will be within walking distance for Carolina basketball fans.

The Blue Heaven Museum, which houses the largest public exhibition of Carolina basketball memorabilia, is relocating closer to downtown Chapel Hill.

The location has yet to be determined, but David Daly says the museum will be up and running in a month.|

The museum captures the Carolina basketball tradition through photographs, film and other multi-media presentations.

From James Worthy's Star Trek trading card to Matt Doherty's sweatpants, the museum offers fans a chance to look back into Carolina's basketball history.

Daly says that moving closer to town has advantages and disadvantages.

"We tend to see our out-of-town visitors really praise us for being here because it's easier to get to," says Daly. "But on a game day, on a weekend, during the summer there is a lot of walking around that we miss by being out here."
