A hearty squad - Stephen Brooks, Chris Brunelle, Carl Erikson, Tom Evans, John Eyles, Stefan Gottschalk, Alan Hoyle, Mark Parris, Andrew Ross, and late addition Steve Frame went to Raleigh to face Occam's Razor. We got there and Occam players were there. There must have been 20 of 'em, hairy fellers, all over the place. Alan was quick to notice that he was the youngest person there. :-)
We started off well, going up 3-0 after a long first point and two short ones. Somewhere around there they scored. We continued forcing forehand, fronting them, and looking to use our athleticism. Carl arrived somewhere around that point ;-) and it was nice to greet him with a lead. We took the half 9-3 and felt pretty good about things. In the second half maybe we got a bit complacent but they also started playing "folks who have been to at least 5 practices" and scored a series early in the half to close the lead to four. From there we traded points. It was like there were downwind goals without the wind. Eventually we won the game 17-12. It was fun to be playing as "Darkside" again. Enjoyed having our guests along as well. There was no wagering. That would be illegal.
