Jerod, 19 year old part-time college student, Ohio Gretchen, 25 year old, taking time off college, New York > Did you plan your wedding with Gretchen? For the most part... yes... I spent quite a bit of time writing my vows, yes, as did Gretchen... They will also, I believe, be the vows we use in our RL marriage, if/when. > when did you decide to marry? About a week before the actual marriage... She asked me, btw. > have you met gretchen in real life? We move in togther in RL in 5 days. :) We'll be meeting for the first time saturday. > how long did you know her on IRC before you decided to get irc.married? 8 months. Well... We've been friends since the first day that I started IRCing... August 20, 1991. > Why did you and gretchen decide to get irc.married? So that we could show a public display of the love that we felt for each other... Also, if/when we get married in real life, we both want a small wedding, possibly even eloping, and so, this was our chance for a larger wedding. > can you tell me a bit about how you met gretchen, and what led you to decide to net.marry We've been friends for a long time, as you can see... We actually both found out about 2 months ago that we'd loved each other from the first time we had talked... > what was your relation with gretchen like in the first few months? Well... We developed a very clsoe friendshp... She actually found me most attractive, at first, for my writitings... Well.. We developed a very strong friendship, and apparently, were both VERY much attracted with each other, but were both also involved with others... And so, we developed a VERY close friendship... > are IRC and real life relations exclusive of each other? In my opinion... in my case... Not at ALL. Gretchen shares this. > so you never had any visual cues to base your judgement of each other.. only text on a screen? She has pictures of me, but only sent recently. (3 weeks ago) I have never seen a picture of her, nor does it matter to me.. > did you have any premaritial irc.sex? No, we didn't. > post-maritial? Once.. On the wedding night... It's not a big thing for us... We're mure the huggie snuggly and PDA irc type. :) > define "PDA irc type" Public Displays of Affection... > like *hug* ? Well, yes... We spend a lot of time snuggling and being romantic... On a much deeper level, yes.. > on public channels? Yes, publicly and privately. I could show you an example.. > yes please Ok.... I have a few aliases, although, being a writer and a poet, most come off the top of my head. IE: ***> Jerod kisses you softly, gently... So carefully, that you are not sure if you were really kissed, or if a pixie had just lightly brushed your lips. (you refering to Gretchen) ***> Jerod returns the kiss to you, with the fury of a maelstrom, the softness of a kitten, the joy of a child, and the love for you that can never be described in words, but can only be thought and shown. ***> Jerod loves you with the devotion of a priest, the compassion of a nurse, the stregth of a giant, the intensity of a storm, the understanding of a scholar, the joy of a child, the passion of Don Juan, and the endurance of a diamond. ETC. > you have a program for that? Just aliases for a few that I liked and saved. > I see. Most come off the top of my head. > how many net.marriages do you know of? I see.. I've done a few, Lazarus had done 6.. I know of about 5 others. > are there net.divorces? Yes, so it seems... 5 of the couples Lazarus has married are no longer together. > hm.. 5 out of 6? Unfourtunately... But many people also do not take net.m seriously... or RL marriages, for that matter. > so now that you are married, has your irc behavior differed? Not really... The feelings for each other go stronger, and we grow closer, we also try to learn a bit new about each other every day. We do spend a bit less time in the public eye, however. > how much time did the both of you spend on IRC .. per day/ per week? I dunno... We are both pure IRC addicts... I spend a lot of time on IRC, more so when she and I were together... > so I could say at least once a day? Oh yes, definately... In fact, we just realized tonight that we have not NOT heard each others voice, as well as spent time on irc at least once a day for the last month or longer. > how your irc behavior changed from when you did not know gretchen? Well, that is a tough question to answer... I would assume you mean before we were acouple? > yes Well, I shifted my hours arround a bit so that I could spend more time with her... Sleep more in the days, and I am awake a bit later at night, which works for me, as I am a night person... I also spend less time worrying about /kick and /kills. Sure. > so your irc usage has increased since the marriage? Not really, I just use it at differnet times of the day than I did previously. I've always spent quite a bit of time on-line, just not always actually here. :) > has gretchen been hit on by other male irc'ers while you are both online? Yes, as I have been by other females... We both turn them away. > females hit on you? Explain.. I have been hit on many times.. It seems you become more desirable when you can't be had.... We've both had people beg us to break off the marriage and come to be with them, and have both flatly refused the advances. ***> Jerod smiles. > from your own time on IRC, do males or females seek out net.sex more often? > or is there a difference? I'd say it was more the females who are agressively pursueing it more, but I'm sure that the ladies would say the same thing. As I meant to say, I'm sure the ladies would say it was the male. > do males or females seek out net.marriage more often? I'd say that that is about even... I know of many that go both ways, not like RL, where men usually are the ones who propose. > 'go both ways' = ? Go both ways = Not always the man that makes the move towards marriage, but often the Lady will make that first move. > what is the male/female scale on irc? > 6:1? 20:1 ? Hmmm.. in my observation it is about 2:1 in favor of the men. > how much time do your spend on irc a day? Well... I am on a lot.. But often I am asleep... as I have been saving money for my move, probably more than I should.... I'd say I'm acutally here about 6-8 hours often. and our second traffic light. :) > do you have a terminal in your house? I am on it now... And my father has one in his office, downstairs. > your father is on IRC? He's my co-admin. :) > does you father know about your irc.marriage? Yes, he's also VERY good friends with Gretchen.
