open source gaming…

As this site is graciously hosted by ibiblio, a huge online library of free information (including software, music, art, literature… a lot of free stuff), I should probably talk about something free once in a while. So here’s something cool: free video-game cabinet games. Got an old JAMMA cabinet that you modified to run MAME? Well these guys are interested in making new games for your old stand up machine. They are also interested if you have any games you want to promote and give away. Link via BoingBoing who call it “open-source.” But I couldn’t find the source for either game they have on the site right now, so is it really open source?

(Full disclosure: ibiblio was also gracious enough to give me a job recently… perhaps my grad school years won’t be so poor after all.)
