Totally updated the blog software today… just writing this post to see the new editor. It’s… kinda familiar. I like the auto-save though. Also of interest is the ability to make any page the front page of the site and leave the blog posts elsewhere. Makes wordpress more of a CMS… which might make Lyceum more of a CMS. Hmm….

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007Some interesting ibiblio related stuff going on –
First, Lyceum just got a new release. This one includes some bug fixes and a few features. I mean you are using Lyceum for your multi-user, multi-blogging needs right? Right. One of these days, I’m gonna make a Lyceum theme…
Last, Paul Jones got mentioned and linked at Boing Boing for pointing to a disturbing little piece Folkstreams put on YouTube. Unfortunately, they got his address wrong and it points to some squatter. Oh well, enjoy the Decomposition of Baby Pigs anyway.
listen closely…

just a lil’ dude…
Friday, January 5th, 2007I’m not usually in the business of pimping TV shows, but I had to say something about Afro Samurai:
Go watch it.
Anime-style cartoon starring Samuel Jackson as a wandering samurai (wonder if he’s ronin… hmm) looking to avenge the killing of his father. He wears the headband of “Number 2″ (which apparently means he’s the only one who can kill whoever is wearing “Number 1″) and he has a huge, flowing afro.
Yeah, cliché story but like a Quentin Tarantino movie you’re really going more for the style than the story. Nicely animated with a soundtrack produced by Wu-Tang’s the RZA. If you can stand the fact that they are showing this on Spike TV then you should definitely give it a go. I’d say more, but it’s not like Spike is paying me or anything.
