There are an awful lot of different designs of woodstoves,
especially if you go back about a century and note all
the changes.
There are certainly many books that describe construction
of certain woodstove designs.
>From the Russian or Nordic massive ceramic types to the
double burner 50 gallon drum types.
The whole design situation here in North America is in
a sort of upheaval now, however.
Several factors include the increasing shortange of
trees, use of the new pellet systems, and the pollution
problems since poorly burning stoves not only heat
poorly but they do put out an awful lot of particles
into the air.
Hence the new trend and legislation in some places for
the catalytic burners installed in the flue pipes,
etc.
Hope this helps.
