ICMC 2004
Start prepping now, folks:
The University of Miami Frost School of Music, in conjunction with the International Computer Music Association, is pleased to announce that the International Computer Music Conference 2004 is scheduled for 1-6 November, 2004 at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, USA. The conference will feature multiple daily concerts of computer music and multimedia works along with a daily multi-track technical program of papers, demonstrations, posters, and exhibitions. Pre-conference workshops are scheduled for 31 October.
The conference explores the theme of Expanded Horizons in its creative and technical examination of the confluence of music and technology. We particularly welcome music and research that addresses new musical interfaces, aesthetics, and ways in which our field can grow by bringing its music and technology to new audiences.
We are planning for the highest-caliber and best-attended conference possible. To help us achieve this goal, ICMC 2004 is being professionally managed and coordinated by CLT Meetings, Inc., of Orlando, Florida.
Miami is a city rich in diverse cultures, resplendent in its offerings of history, nature, cuisine, recreation, and nightlife. The city’s newly renovated airport (MIA) is served by daily nonstop flights from a wealth of domestic and international cities; in addition, a monorail is available to shuttle attendees to the conference hotel located adjacent to the University of Miami.
The general call for submissions of music, papers, videos, demonstrations, booths, and exhibitions will be made shortly. We look forward to seeing you in Miami
in November!Sincerely,
Colby Leider, Chair
