I am dissapointed to find that this school has no electronic music lab so I am checking out other schools that I might like to transfer to. What I am looking for is a school with a good Emusic lab, an excellent computer science department (with plenty of Macintoshes), and an excellent music program as well. I love to proram computers, but compose music as well. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to look into? I am already looking at Western Washington State, and Oberlin in Ohio. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Mike Bishop BISHOP_M@PLU.BITNET 312 Stuen Hall Pacific Lutheran University Tacoma WA 98447 (503) 535-7782 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 16 Feb 1992 11:47:00 EST From: ROTHBART@ITHACA.BITNET Subject: Re: Electronic Music Colleges We've got a very involved emusic program here at Ithaca College. 3 emusic studies, 2 synclaviers, 1 Mac based lab including samplecell, direct-to-disk recording, Akai samplers, SMPTE lockup. Students do film scores and show music and sound design in conjunction with the School of Communications which has its own radio stations (always looking for news intros), television program and film and video deaprtments. The School of Music is very well known, and VERY supportive of the studios. Good jazz department, too. Let me know if you're interested. I can send you literature. Feel free to call me at school 607-274-3171 or at home 607-257-8101. More when I have a chance. I'm in the middle of writing a radio-drama score to be produced by both the School of Communications and the School of Music in two months. We've got an excellent program.
