Subject: A public announcement from TNR TWO ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED [Please reply to me personally and not to the list! OLIVOTTO@ITNCISCA or olivotto@itnvax.cineca.it] >>> DISCLAIMER <<< This is NOT a commercial advertisement. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hello to everybody out there! It's probably the first time we meet, so please allow me to introduce myself: my name is Marco Olivotto, I live in Italy, I'm a musician and I run an independent label called TNR - just like my musical project. I have two announcements for you all, and I am sure that some of you will be interested. Just read on! ---------- First of all I would like to announce to everybody that TNR is finally starting its own newsletter. And... it is COMPLETELY FREE! Some details: "The Noisy Room" (the newsletter title, what else?) is issued in two editions - the "I" edition for the domestic audience, in Italian, and the "E" edition for foreign friends, in English. The first number (or, better, "Issue 0") since this is just an experimental number (4 pages destined to grow, grow, grow...) is being printed these days. It covers various items, mostly related to TNR activity. In this first (er, "zero-th") number we introduce TNR and its plans for the future, and support Dero's _Update_ in a small dedicated section. The newsletter will be issued every three months, and the subscription is FREE. FREE means that it doesn't cost a single dollar. FREE means that all you have to do is ask and it will be sent to you at once. All those who have bought any item from the TNR catalogue will receive it by default, so there's no need to tell us. Anyone who is interested can receive it anyway (and, no, it isn't one of those cheating things where all you receive is a catalogue so that you are somehow forced to buy - not at all). I ask for your help anyway: TNR is making a HUGE effort to make its name heard, and things are starting to work.. so, please, what we need is GOSSIP RUMOURS VOICES SPREADING NEWSLETTERS EVERYWHERE ... (got the idea?) Make as many copies as you wish, or ask for multiple copies and put them everywhere you can: colleges, radio stations, record stores, government offices... wherever you like. This is something we can't do without your help. So tell your mates, bother your girl/boyfriend... if 50 of you tell me "I want 50 copies" there will be 2,500 newsletters around. Start the buzz! You can send personal requests to me personally via e-mail: OLIVOTTO@ITNCISCA (BITNET) olivotto@itnvax.cineca.it (Internet) or, if you wish, via standard mail: TNR Attn: Marco Olivotto 16 Via dell'Abetone 38068 - ROVERETO (TN) ITALY Fax: (39)464.421433 P.S.: of course, don't forget to add your snail-mail address to the subscription! ---------- And here comes a very serious announcement to all independent musicians: TNR is an independent label based in Italy, and is run by no one else but me and some friends. We are attempting to build a cata- logue of artists to whom we hope to offer: * Mail orders distribution * Contacts with European ventures devoted to distribution * Highlight in musical newsletter Therefore we would be happy to receive independent productions of any kind (strictly musical anyway) so that we may consider them for inclusion in our own catalogue and newsletter. Every musician or band interested to make his own name heard this way is invited to send a demo-tape, a biographical script, and everything he considers worth of attention (reviews, write-ups, etc) to: TNR Attn: Marco Olivotto 16 Via dell'Abetone 38068 - ROVERETO (TN) ITALY Fax: (39)464.421433 We will reply to EVERYONE before one month since we receive the material. For further information you can reach me at OLIVOTTO@ITNCISCA (BITNET) olivotto@itnvax.cineca.it (Internet) Please show this announcement to all those who, in your opinion, may be interested in this venture. ***************************************************************** IMPORTANT: for obvious reasons, we need to receive only copyrighted material. The LEAST requirement is a hand-written note of the author(s) of music/lyrics where they claim under his/her/their own responsibility that the submitted material is his/her/their own property. Anyway, TNR declines any responsibility for any damage occurring after false declarations. TNR also claims that the material will not be reproduced, broadcasted or distributed in any way without the express consent of the author(s) and without further agreements. International copyright laws apply in case of any controversy. ***************************************************************** Ciao, Marco ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Mar 1992 10:15:55 PST From: Conrad_Geiger@NEXT.COM Subject: Computer Music Festival/Conference in Greece The Center for Contemporary Music Research (CCMR) of Greece and the European Cultural Center of Delphi announce A COMPUTER MUSIC FESTIVAL/CONFERENCE and a CALL FOR PAPERS Festival information -- Location: Delphi, Greece Dates: July 1st - July 6th 1992 Guest composers and researchers: Ianis Xenakis, Paul Lansky, Roger Reynolds, Tristan Murail, Jean-Baptiste Barriere, Brad Garton, Perry Cook, Chris Chafe and the UPIC research team. That's a good one. I've never seen a message corrupted like this before. The original was fine when it left my desk. Let's try it again... --- >Nick had mentioned he would be performing live (hopefully whether or >not he resolves all of his differences with his gear) in the 12-13 March >time frame. As I may be able to attend, could I coax you into reposting >that announcement, perhaps with some times as well as date & place? Sorry about this, but that one's off. The Traverse Theatre is about to move (to a very impressive totally custom-built and hi-tech subterranean new site) so they aren't doing any "support" acts until after that's done. So, what I've done is taken this project and a couple of others and I'm putting together a full-length performance (three separate contemporary dance pieces, me doing the music live) in the Edinburgh Spring Fling arts festival at the beginning of June. That's been accepted and is slated to go ahead at the Assembly Rooms on June 4th. This is why I'm eating, sleeping and dreaming MAX at the moment... If you're in the area in March, Brian, please do give me a call (031 650 5142 or 031 225 9035) so we can meet up. Nick. ------------------------------ End of the EMUSIC-L Digest ******************************
