Lewis of Curtin University in Perth, Austrailia, we now have a secure anonymous FTP server which I'm running on my Mac Plus. I have archived the EMUSIC-L digests which I have to date on this server, and will be adding more as I complete them (and recover old ones from the archives). The server is located at castrovalva.gsfc.nasa.gov. You may log in as anonymous, with your mailing address as password. I will open the server 24 hours a day first; if I end up swamped with FTPs, I'll have to limit the time to after working hours. Remember: this is a Mac Plus. It is sloooooow. Don't expect to download heaps of stuff in a short time. --- Joe M. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Oct 1992 19:31:00 EDT From: "(rg8)" Subject: Re: Anonymous FTP of EMUSIC-L archives now available >Remember: this is a Mac Plus. Joe, this observation and the recent discussions of 8 and 16-bit resolution lead me to share something which Otto Luening told me in a phone converstation last year (he's over 90, BTW). Prof. Luening said that Varese once told him "just because you have airplanes doesn't mean you have to shoot all the horses." I'm happy to hear your Mac Plus is plugging away at something useful. Mine is still my only computer (and I also have an quarter horse ). For further information, call Norman Lowrey (201) 408-3421, or make queries here. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Oct 1992 11:02:00 EST From: NLOWREY@DREW.BITNET Subject: Buchla Don Buchla is appearing at only two places on the east coast this fall: Drew University in Madison, New Jersey on Nov. 4 and Radford University in Radford, Virginia on Nov. 7. I wanted to find out if there is enough interest among the list users for me to post it. If you're interested please reply to the list. If only a couple people respond I can send it to you individually. The list contains some prices and addresses but I DO NOT GAIN ANY MONETARY BENEFITS. In other words, it's not an ad just a compilation of names.
