I see *.Z files on the net which I ass/u/me are compressed patch files for the D50. Am I right? 2. I have an IBM clone and want to download these files. Do I need a program to decompress these .Z files? 3. I'm a novice in this area, so please give me details to download and de- compress these files. The *.Z file extension actually means that the file has been compressed within a UNIX enviroment with the command "compress . > 2. I have an IBM clone and want to download these files. Then you can type the command "uncompress " which will uncompress the files you want. If you do not have a UNIX account, you WILL need a program that can decode the UNIX compress file format. Being a Macintosh user, I'm not sure what is out there that can do this for the PC world but I am pretty sure there is a program that can perform these tasks for you. Then you can download it to your system and use it. If you have the program to uncompress on your home PC (highly unlikely) as I think it is UNIX in nature you could download the .Z file and do it on your own computer. Hope this helps as I am about a page ahead you in the manual on this and most other commands in UNIX ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Jan 1994 10:28:02 +0500 From: Ted Shab Subject: Re: .Z compressed files for D50 patches >> 1.
