How nice it is to run into you here online. I am currently in upstate NY working as a producer specializing in computer based systems. How have you been ? Are you still at the Conservatory? I spoke recently with Carl Atkins, who had been until recently the chief adminstrator of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra. I have actually planned a trip to Boston in the next two weeks and had planned on visiting the Conservatory. I f you are still there, I'd like to stop in to say hello. Good wishes to you. I've heard some talk recently that there now exists a way, if one has a fast enough modem, to play MIDI files over the internet (or call up and listen, whatever). But in general an ftp site is a server (machine) where you can retrive / add files of information (ascii, pix, etc etc ). FAQ .. means frequently asked question .. and it's related to the group/list you are subscribe to .. it is in general a very looong files with all possible tips/tricks/infos ona a specific subject / list / group /items .. 'FTP sites' contain files, programs etc etc which you can pull over and view or run on your own machine. FAQ = Frequently Asked Question. A list of common questions which many net administrators provide to try and prevent the same questions being asked over and over again. There are loads of books on these subjects eg: The Whole Internet by Ed Krol, O'Reilley & Associates Inc 1992, email: nuts@ora.com There's also plenty of information available through the Internet itself, but of course this is a Catch 22 situation...
