Basically an RS232 to MIDI interface is needed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. And the MIDI "connector" you need is a midi interface, not an RS232. The interface connects from the MAC modem or printer serial ports. I got a reasonably cheap one (1 in/3 out) for around for around $45 (us$). I've seen it for $49.95 in catalogs. It's about 40% of the size of a power strip and has 1in/3outs. You don't get a serial thru with this interface, but I didn't need one. A friend of mine got a MIDI interface with performance software (not bad) for around $45 from MacWarehouse. The interface has 2 ins and 3 outs (thrus). ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Jul 1994 22:22:33 -0500 From: Arne Claassen ISE Subject: Re: MAC MIDI > What is the quickest and least expensive way to get a MIDI connector for a > Macintosh LCIII? I know of three possibilities: Opcode, Altec and Apple all have simple 1 IN, 1 OUT adaptors for about $50 retail. You meant ADB to Midi not RS232 to Midi i'd presume. Then there is the option of building your own. The schematics are somewhere on the net. I think, the Emusic site had them. -- Arne F. Chris is behind the drums and a tape deck not plugged in, no sound. Everybody's waiting to play. He hits it again. Nothing. I yell at him. He hits it again. Nothing. Then we smash our gear and walk offstage!" ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 13 Jul 1994 09:08:02 EDT From: "Campbell, Vance" Subject: Re: MAC MIDI >What is the quickest and least expensive way to get a MIDI connector for a >Macintosh LCIII?
