Does anyone know a good algorithmic composition program for the Mac or Atari? I have some of Dr. T's stuff I like a lot though I am using my mac these days more than the Atari. I'm looking at either commericial or downloadable thanks Bob Boilen ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Aug 1994 00:17:28 -0700 From: Carl Stone Subject: Re: Algorithmic programs? Part of the Cubase package is an Interactive Phrase Synthesizer that does some algorythmic interactive kinds of stuff in real time. It's facinating. One of the best algorithmic programs for the MAC is SYMBOLIC COMPOSER. I have only seen the demo and some literature on it, but it looks great. The program only produces MIDI files - it does not play them back. Attached is some information. I hope that your mail reader can handle the attached document which is about 200k in size. I can send more info if you like. Best wishes in your search. Hope this helps. Bye for now. --========================_15379182==_ Content-Type: application/mac-binhex40; name="Symbolic_Composer.sea" --========================_15379182==_ Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Paul Copeland ************************************************************ * I Paul Copeland * * e-mail I pcc@insane.apana.org.au * * snail-mail I PO box 32 * * I Kalorama, Victoria, Australia 3766 * ************************************************************ --========================_15379182==_-- Attachment converted: Castrovalva:Symbolic Composer.sea (APPL/EXTR) (0000AD94) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Aug 1994 09:05:08 -0400 From: Joe McMahon Subject: Re: Algorithmic programs? > Attached is some information. It's usually best if you can send such things directly to people who ask for them - there's a possibility that things as large as this, especially if sent over a weekend, could fill someone's mailbox and cause them to not get their mail. Once the FTP site is back in business, we'll be able to distribute stuff through there. --- Joe M. ------------------------------ End of the EMUSIC-L Digest ******************************
