I've been pondering the K2000R and Wavestation. Much as I'd like to, I can't afford to buy both, so I'm curious about them. What is it about the Wavestation that 'blows away' the K2000? Thanks in advance. +-------------------+------------------------------------------------------- | natew@halcyon.com | You write Windows code? Mac code? Subject: Re: K2000R vs. some others In my opinion the only feature that the Wavestation has over the K2000 is wave sequencing. But the K2000 does have similar features. The K2000 doen't have wavesequencing but there are many parameters that you can sync up to a MIDI clock (LFO, Pan, and numerous other contollers). It does take some time to learn to use these features but once learned you could be emulating Wavestation patches to some degree. If you're shooting for true wave sequencing then the Wavestaions the way to go. But besides that I can't see anything else on the Wavestation that outshines the K2000. >Can anyone give me another reason how the Wavestation outshines the K2000? I don't mean to put the Wavestation down, in fact I own one but it gets about 1/10 the use that my K2000 gets. You can fake them both, badly, with the K2000; but the WS is MADE to do them, and does so with elegance and ease. And that's a fundamental difference, not a bellznwhisslez difference like the fact taht the WS's onboard effects are better than the K2k's or it has more polyphony or whatever. Paradigms, especially new paradigms, are precious and should be cherished. With this in mind, expect an indepth review of the Morpheus soon; I have a loaner from a friend for a few weeks..... -- mike metlay * atomic city * box 81175 pgh pa 15217-0675 * atomic@netcom.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Obviously had a wonderful time. I would agree. If you find yourself working differently, rather than shrugging and saying, "oh, this fits into my plans thus-and-so", then you're onto something. -- mike metlay * atomic city * box 81175 pgh pa 15217-0675 * atomic@netcom.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------- (from fEEd's commentary on pros and cons of the Yamaha CS-15 analog synth:) "Good: filter rez does not scream.
