When you select "Reply" in most mail programs, they will automatically fill in the destination with the sender's e-mail address, which in this case is the listserv, not author of the post. So if you want your reply to go ONLY to the author of the post, you must deliberately erase the listserv address in the "To:" space and type (or copy) the author's address, which is usually contained somewhere within the message. It's nothing sinister, really. Included is a demo model that composes nice preludes & fugues. It lets you tweak dozens parameters and produces thousands variations of the same prelude & fugue idea. We have hundreds of other models that could help you to become a star. StarMaker models are programmed in Symbolic Composer. The forthcoming PowerMac native S-COM version includes option to save the scores in StarMaker-executable format. Symbolic Composer users can now publish and distribute their compositions to the 1 million users that are using Macintosh for music production while keeping the programming details, or trade-secrets, hidden from the end user. StarMaker enables also electronic presence to Symbolic Composer users. With StarMaker it is now possible to participate remote composition projects in the network by sending a StarMaker panel that the producer or the other participants can interact with. This is release 1.0.1 so don't expect too much explanations. Keep also in mind that a composition model is almost like a synthesizer module to what comes to complexity and editability. You'd need a manual to operate it. The demo model does not contain instructions, so you are given the frustration to learn it by doing. For those who are familiar with the topics discussed in fmusic@kssun7.rus.uni-stuttgart.de discussion list, Prelude & Fugue model demonstrates a musical form which is a fractal by definition. All themes and dynamics of this model are derived from two themes. As a result all that you hear are reflections of itself. All compositions are also self-similar like a fractal since they share the same underlying processes. It's like a hall of mirrors where each mirror is reflecting the reflections of all the other mirrors which are reflecting the same. To join the Symbolic Composer scene and start developing your own electronic compositions to the audience of 1 million composers and music makers in this unique media, check our web pages for more information.
