Peace!
I'm working on Cakewalk Pro Audio right now, as a step up from Logic which
I've been using for about 2 years.... I went from the world of... ulp,
Atari, to a p-90.

I'm looking to correspond with anyone with extensive knowledge on this
program.... as well, I'm also looking for website with downloadable MIDI
files available. (Cheesy disco covers would be the coolest.... or New
Order tracks to murder in remix)

I work here in Canada 24-7 in the music and entertainment field, so iuf
anyone has any needs that I might be able to help with, such as publicity
venues here, clubs, whatever, please drop me a line.

Hi Dixon,

Can't say that I'm an expert in Cakewalk Pro, but I've found a URL that has
some cheesy disco sounds for ya! Why the move away from Logic? What was
the appeal of Cakewalk Pro Audio?

Thanks Tomy,
The reply you sent shows me that you are familiar with Air Liquide. I am
familiar with the song that you suggested, however, it is not the one
that I am looking for. A few more qoutes that I can remember may
help,"...time for re-entry..." (something about) "...trichomatic
zodies..." If this helps, let me know.

EX-STATIC

Begins where techno-ambient ends. Specially burnt CDs by digital sound forgers
are beat-mixed in a multi-channel stack to immerse you in a virtual sonic
vortex. You are no longer static: you're ex static...

ExStatic is a series of electro-acoustic/techno-ambient events, where
previously unreleased material is given a listening space.

Ex Static is part of the Experimenta season of video-art screenings in November
at the old electricity power station at 623 Lonsdale St, near the corner of
Spencer and Lonsdale streets, Melbourne.

ExStatic will extend the idea of the cross-fade between tracks by having a
dynamically controlled computer controlled quadraphonic set-up, which will be
able to play a number of different tracks simultaneously, into different
speakers for the ultimate beat-mixing and sound-diffussion experience.

Over forty computer-music composers world-wide have contributed to this
project:
there are 4 performances only at the experimenta festival club lounge:

FRIDAY NOvember 8th, 9pm-11pm
Saturday November 9th, 5-6pm & 9-11pm
Sunday Novenber 10th, 6-7pm

Actually, I didn't mean anything at all, and expressed no opinions. I just
threw that quote into the forum because I was interested that comments on
technological working methods with puppets and characterisation seemed to
resonate with so much that I hear and experience with technology for making
music.

Our music department is grossly underequipped in tech gear to address the
needs of our students and the development of new programing in music
technology. I am sure we are not alone. I need some sources for grants
and other types of funding for obtaining computer labs, software, midi
based work stations with adats, keyboards and other such gear. It is
frustrating not being able to do what one needs to do in this area! I
welcome suggestions and other such creative ideas other than holding the
administration at ransom!

Urban Legend. Please pass this along to those who sent it to you.

Also, this is SO far off topic... and the cookies, from reports
from those who have made them, pretty much blow, BTW.

Subject: JV-1080 opinions??
Comments: To: SYNTH-L@AMERICAN.EDU

In the interest of downsizing and economy, I'm thinking about replacing my
Korg 05R/W, Kurzweil MicroPiano and Proteus I with a Roland JV-1080. It
sounds tremendous (I think), and fits (barely) into my budget.

And so I ask you, the cognoscenti: whaddaya think?

Do you like it? Hate it? If one were to have a single rig, is it a good
choice? Is there anything I might not have picked up from a half-hour of
playing it that I should know? Is there something better for the same money
($1239)?

BTW, my dominant application is sequencing in my home studio, and I seem to
gravitate to duplicating real-life instruments (as opposed to inventing
sounds, or using "synthy" sounds). I use a Yamaha KX-88 and Mac, Freestyle
and Master Tracks Pro, and though fairly midi-literate would probably be
described as more "musician" than "gearhead/programmer".

Thanks in advance for any help. Your opinions and experiences are
invaluable.
