I’ve upgraded to version 2.7 – less painful than usual. I’m planning to try out the new features that will let me post faster – perhaps I’ll post more that way. I’ll be attending the Different Skies festival this year as a performer. This will be my first public performance on keyboards. Gulp. Those of you who’ve read my postings on EMUSIC-L and have followed this blog have probably noted that I’m a big fan of generative art: ambient music, installation pieces, and so on. Passing on the announcement: The competition MUSICA NOVA was for the first time realized in 1969. In 2000, the National Recording Preservation Act, was established. This act requires the Library select recordings each year that are “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” Looks very interesting; wish I could be there … love to hear from anyone who attends. I was able to dig a few more random messages out of Google’s Usenet archive by hand-crawling through the earliest archives. A few more messages showed up; unfortunately EMUSIC-D doesn’t seem to have been archived. Pity. Anyway, a few more scraps of volumes 25 and 26 are now available, including one quite thoughtful one from [...] Apple has added a new iApp, GarageBand, to iLife ‘04. For $49, Mac OS X users can have a decent multi-track recorder and loop compositor. Looks great! <><><><><><><><><><><><> – piksel04 – FLOSS in motion <><><><><><><><><><><><> Now ongoing in Manchester – Things started up on the 27th, but will keep on |
