@differentskies on Twitter

We’re trying an experiment this year for Different Skies: the @differentskies Twitter ID will be used by all the participants to do updates during the week.

Normally we have a lot of different blog entries that generally end up getting written at the end of the day or even a day or so [...]

WordPress 2.7

I’ve upgraded to version 2.7 – less painful than usual. I’m planning to try out the new features that will let me post faster – perhaps I’ll post more that way.

Different Skies: T -2:05:29

I’ll be attending the Different Skies festival this year as a performer. This will be my first public performance on keyboards. Gulp.

I’m still doing my last minute planning – I’ve finalized the gear, gotten the software I want to use ready, and have made lists of the stuff to actually be packed and [...]

Library of Congress 2005 Selected Recordings

In 2000, the National Recording Preservation Act, was established. This act requires the Library select recordings each year that are “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”

Looks very interesting; wish I could be there … love to hear from anyone who attends. American composer Roger Reynolds, winner of the Pulitzer Prize in 1989, will discuss his work at the introduction and demonstration of a new Library of Congress Web presentation devoted to his music. Thanassis Rikakis, director of Arts, Media [...]

A few more messages surface …

I was able to dig a few more random messages out of Google’s Usenet archive by hand-crawling through the earliest archives. A few more messages showed up; unfortunately EMUSIC-D doesn’t seem to have been archived. Pity. Anyway, a few more scraps of volumes 25 and 26 are now available, including one quite thoughtful one [...]

GarageBand

Apple has added a new iApp, GarageBand, to iLife ’04. For $49, Mac OS X users can have a decent multi-track recorder and loop compositor. Looks great!
