McNeil Bears Surf The Web

Join them by checking out the new Friends of McNeil River web site at http://sunsite.unc.edu/fomr - it is fabulous! Professor Rich Beckman has designed an exceptional Web site. Now, people all over the world are learning how Friends of McNeil River is working to protect our favorite bears.

The site also allows everyone to get to meet the McNeil River bears. Members of Friends of McNeil River are sharing their experiences by displaying their photos in the Gallery Section. Currently Larry Aumiller, Jim Lebiedz, Alissa Crandall, Mark Newman, Rich Beckman, and Dorothy and Leo Keeler's photos can be seen on the Web site. The Gallery is for members to show some of their bear photos from McNeil River and other venues. If you would like to submit your work, send 12-15 slides to the Friends of McNeil River, P.O. Box 231091, Anchorage, AK 99523. Don't forget to include a short description about each photo. All photos will be reviewed by the Chairman of the Board, and shown in the sequence received. Your slides will be returned.

Our web site e-mail links will also make it easier for members to let the Board of Directors know of any desires or concerns they may have. E-mail may not be checked as regularly as if it were a personal site, but every message will be answered. Please be patient and remember that everyone involved with FOMR is volunteering their time.

We encourage all the members to share the Web address with their friends and to use this opportunity to become more involved in helping to protect McNeil River bears.
