This informal survey was conducted from 2 to 25 Oct 2002. It was aimed for those who responded to the survey but all who were invited were informed in the hope of getting information on why they did not respond. Only two responded and both of them had participated in the previous survey. One responded via web interface while another responded via email.
The responses are listed below:
1.
How has the Delphi process facilitated (or not facilitated) communication
between participants?
Garrett
I don't know any other participants, so how could it facilitate discussion with any particular one?
Schulhoff
I only found time to participate in two rounds and I dont see how the
process facilitated communication. I had zero interaction with other
participants.
2.
Do you find participation in this survey a worthwhile experience?
Garrett
Somewhat. I think I got burnt out answering it sometimes. Even though there was the ability to answer the survey in pieces, I would still answer it in all one shot, for whatever reasons, be they technological or psychological. And it's a long survey to do that for.
Schulhoff
Sorry to say: No. The problem is that the survey is rather time consuming
and I dont feel that I get anything in return.
3.
What can be improved in the process of the survey?
Schulhoff
I do not think the this type of highly qualitative surveys are well suited
for use on the web. Had you asked the questions in person, I had found it
fun and worthwhile. In the survey you asked detailed questions and asked
people to provide detailed answeres. It's a simple trade: you get a lot and
I get nothing - I usually dont trade like this :).
If it is to work, one tenth of the questions would be enough -people like
to help but only a little.
4.
What can be improved in the web interface of the survey?
Garrett
Not requiring Javascript, if possible. Small niglet: use
Schulhoff
I found the interface slow and annoying (not easily navigated). I tend to
loose interest if I have to browse through a lot of pages.
5.
What can be improved in the questions posed in the survey?
No Respond

I'm greatly enjoying being able to read the results of the survey.
