Gamelan Nyai Saraswati
June 7, 2001, 6:00 PM
Chapel Hill Museum

This was Gamelan Nyai Saraswati's first concert for an audience. It was a private concert for members of the UCIS (University Center for International Studies), who helped to bring this gamelan to Chapel Hill. The concert was recorded on a voice tape recorder, so the audio quality is not ideal, but it exists only because Morgan Kenney (director of the Chapel Hill Museum) was thoughtful enough to do so. Thanks for preserving this record of Nyai Saraswati's beginnings!
